Is gulf shores, alabama a good place to vacation?

Question: Is gulf shores, alabama a good place to vacation?

(Posted by: primalclaws1974 on 2010-01-07 08:23:01)

I am near Des Moines, Iowa, it's just under 1, 000 miles. I have been to Florida many times, but my wife has never been to the Gulf (ocean). We wanted a trip that wasn't going to take forever, and yet have a decent family beach area. Seems there's a water park and zoo there as well. I think we are actually going to stay in Foley, as I know how outrageous beach hotels can be. Basically, I am asking anyone who has been to the public beach at Gulf Shores if it is decent, if they have natural beaches where you can find shells, and if April would be warm enough to swim. Thanks for all the information!!

I've heard of it before; it can't be all that bad.

This is a great spot to vacation...April the water is still a little cool. dalphin beach is a very nice place too, but it is so crowded in the summer with people. Shells can be found at most gulf beaches... just depends on them washing up with the tide. check out this : gulfshores.com

That's a good choice -- it's much quieter than nearby Pensacola, Destin & Panama City -- the beaches are beautiful, plenty of dining options and shopping, too. You may be able to find a decent rate on the beach, but if you don't mind staying in Foley, it's only a few minutes drive down to the beach, and there are plenty of public access points (free parking!). To check rates & book online, head to resideo.com/ us/ alabama/ gulfshores -- choose your dates & number of guests, then submit the form. When the results appear, you can sort them by price, ranking, etc. Hope that helps!

Must be good...........as it is called the... Redneck Riviera...........and several folks go there from my home town..........and they love it.........I have not been there....I prefer South Beach.....much nicer and classier............and Mojitos are to die for......
