Dog carriers on alaska airlines?
alaska airlines 737 800and 900 require dog carriers be only 9 inches high. other dimensions 14 19 x 24. Does anyone have experience with this I want to buy a sherpa that is 11.5 inches high. Can they be squished down to fit? My dog is 9 lbs . I have sherpa med whci is 17 inches long, 11 inches wide and 10.5 inches tall. I would like to go up to 11.5 inches high. OH, this is for the cabin tit must fit under the seat. I need help thanks Leepoo

i have military orders to report to gerogia and am currently assigned to a military post in alaska. wondering if i still need a passport to travel down the ALCAN to the lower 48.

I'm an elementary teacher in Georgia and I want to look for a position in Alaska. I have some friends around Nome but that might be a little too remote for me. I don't want to be in the middle of nowhere but want to be out of the middle of the city enough to really enjoy the splendor of the Alaskan surroundings. Any recommendations as to where to go?
What is it like living in Barrow Alaska?
I live in the UK but am fascinated by the Northern slope cities such as Barrow or Point Hope. What is life like during the severe winters? What sort of city is Barrow? I understand that there are no roads leading to Barrow only an airport. Does it feel any different when the temperature is 20 degrees C or 30 degrees C? It can get to below 50 degrees F. In addition to that, the unemployment rate is 12.7 % there while the national average is 5.8 %. Why do so many people live there even if you don't include the eskimos

Im writing a book about children and their dogs who have been stranded by their parents and they have to go find help. So like is northern, western, southern, eastern less populated and a specific part would help a lot too.
