Sure. When you travel to a place like Alaska and do a shoulder cruise(one that is the beginning or the end of a season), you save money. Sure it could be cold, but with Alaska, you never really know. The key is to travel with layers, a hat and gloves, then just go for it. |

To add to Ms Time Traveler Sept. is a great month. Cruised there over 25 times. Just type in each port of call and it will give current and average temps. You will still see wildlife from the ship. A bonus if you want souvenirs is that both on the ship and in ports of a call everything is 50% off. Enjoy. Will there 4 times this season. |

Alaska is always iffy. I went on a cruise in August and we had very good weather. I heard of the same cruise, on the same ship, two weeks earlier that had nothing but rain. |

Well, September is the best month for the foil foliage. Generally, the Alaska cruise season runs from May-September. July and August are the most popular months. September may get some weather issues. Weather starts getting colder and you may get rainy days. One advantage is, the price is lower in September. Hope I helped! |

Depends. Wildlife is less as hibernation is starting. Prices are lower, weather is cooler, sales in the stores are fantastic as they are about to close for the season. We went in the middle of September and the only time it was really cold was at the glacier. We even went white water rafting in our winter jackets. When exploring the pipe line, we didn't even need a jacket. It is a fine time to go as it doesn't diminish your enjoyment of the main attraction which is the scenery. Go and enjoy. Be sure to buy an ulu knife. They are fantastic. |

Yes = ) i live in Juneau, and it's beautiful in September (if you don't mind a little rain). plus, you'll find good end-of-season sales and discounts. |

September is great. The whales seem to be more active and if you take an extension to Denali, there are less bugs and great foilage. |
