Best place to live in arizona?

Question: Best place to live in arizona?

(Posted by: floridette on 2010-02-08 17:30:46)

I am a single professional black female(35) with no kids.Consider moving to Arizona this November 2010 to look for a new job as a medical assistant(graduated from college). I like to be outdoors most of the time and I was thinking about moving in Tempe, Mesa or Scottsdale to rent an apt. I am on a budget($600 max for apt) but want to live in a safe neighborhood close to everything.Any suggestion?

Well Arizona is big on health care professions so that youll be good on. Mesa is a beautiful city, well all the parts of AZ I've been to looked so perfect like a post card, it was unreal. Im from New Jersey by the way. Arizona is a totally diffrent place, sunny, clean air, not crowded. The roads were paved so much better than pothole NJ. The rent is cheap, in Jersey rent usually starts at $1200. In AZ you can find a 1 bedroom for on average $642 a month. I've heard of ppl only paying $408 a month, just look around until you get your price. Tempe I love it, but my family lives in Mesa. Scottsdale is nice , its an upscale city. You should try Gilbert, AZ it's reallllly nice. Either city you'll be fine, you just gotta see for yourself. They are all pretty safe. All the cities I saw looked perfect. Everyone in AZ was sooooooo friendly, it was unbleleivable coming from the east coast near New York where everyone is hung up on Mercedes and Bmw and trying to out do each other and bad attitudes. Az is laid back.

Areas of Tempe are quite nice. Mesa gets pretty bad in a lot of areas. Scottsdale is great, but super high priced. At $600 a month it's going to limit you quite a bit, unless you consider a room mate situation. With one room mate you could be in a nice area and a nice rental for that amount. Good luck!

Not sure if $600/ mo will get you there, but south Chandler is the way to go. ALSO there are plenty of JOBs in Chandler for your medical skills. Check out Chandler Regional Medical Center or Banner Hospital in Gilbert (or surrounding areas) Tempe might also have a few good areas, but Scottsdale is WAY too expensive. Best of Luck!
