Question: Inexpensive southern california vacations?

I need to do something next month for my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend. We just came back from Vegas so thats not gonna happen again. We are going a weekend deal so going via plane isnt a good option. I was thinking about San Diego, we went late last year but we didnt do everything...meaning didnt go to the Zoo or really go in the water at the beaches. That or Catalina Island. I havent been there before but I have a feeling that place is for old people. Trying to buy a home but still want to have some fun without getting robbed walking to the car.

I think that the "inexpensive SoCal " part of your question turned people off. SoCal is pretty expensive. Santa Barbara is a good place to visit. It's fun to hang out on State Street or on the beach. If you think Laughlin is too old, try going further south to Lake Havasu City.
