Question: Do you need to be rich to live in california?

Do i need loads of money to move from UK to california if me and my girlfriend want to live together.

It helps to have a job and a place to live already. Buying is very expensive in most areas.

If you are a british citizen you can't move to America just because you feel like it. You can visit but you can not live and work in the states legally unless you have a job that is in high demand (engineer, certain medical professions, etc... which means at least a bachelors in college) and have an American company sponsor you to move. Basically, yes, you would need a lot of money to move here, not just because of the cost of living but because you would not qualify to move here otherwise.
