Question: Winter vacation in new york, massachusetts, connecticut, vermont or new hampshire?

I am going on a vacation tomorrow until Thursday. The group includes a mother, a 15 yr old boy and a 13 yr old girl. We aren't sure where to go yet. We want to go to a nice village in winter that has things to do this time of year. We live outside of Albany, NY and don't want to travel farther than 2 hours away. We want a nice village or town with places to eat, nice little stores and shops and a nice place to stay. RIght now we are thinking about Saratoga Springs or maybe Springfield. Thanks for the ideas.

For winter, new hampshire or vermont though, NH might be a bit longer than u want to drive look some places up, but your own opinion matters the most!

What a great time to get away! Check out Lake Placid. It has all the things you are looking for and you can watch skiiers, snow boarders, and look at the Olympic site. The drive is beautiful and the town of Lake Placid is great. It is on Mirror Lake. Lake Placid itself is within walking distance. Have fun, Shari
