Delaware "sucks " is a matter of opinion. I'm from Maryland, I've been through Delaware before, usually venturing through on the way to Ocean City, MD. So my take on Delaware is very limited. It's all of 3 counties, and mostly rural, it may get more urban once you cross into Wilmington on the northern side near Philadelphia and New Jersey. But pretty much most of eastern and southern MD is rural outside of the Philly, and DC/ Baltimore area. There is a lot of farmland still in that area scattered about with small towns scattered about. So some people may not like Delaware because I imagine it's probably a bit to slow moving for people who prefer living in an urban or large metropolitan area. For others it may be local politics, schooling, etc. But pretty much that is the kind of vibe I get from Delaware. Also if you want to be in rural MD, Delaware is right next door, rural Delaware is next door to rural Maryland. Depending on where you want to travel within Maryland, especially if it's work related anywhere near DC or Baltimore, you have to factor in that you are about an hour at least from where you want to be, maybe more like an 1 1/ 2 traveling distance worth. Then there is also rush hour in DC/ Baltimore which is some of the most congested traffic in the nation. If this is the case where you will have to travel into central Maryland, you may want to consider living closer to your destination point than Delaware. |
