If so, I need your help. (If you don't live there, please don't respond.) I need to know what is going on down there weather- wise. Is it flooded? Is it a disaster area? I have plans to come there from Houston on Labor Day weekend, but I'm not sure whether or not to cancel and just go another time. I know it's been raining alot and the forecast says that there will be a 30 % chance of scattered T- Storms throughout the weekend, but I need to get first hand info from people who live there. What's it like right now in St. Pete? I don't mind a little rain, but I don't want to go if all the streets are flooded. Thanks for your help. |

Dude, calm down. I'm from the Tampa Bay area and it's all fine...including St. Pete. Yeah, there's been a bunch of rain lately, but that's really common for a central Florida summer. From June through early September, there's a thunderstorm almost every single afternoon. That's just the way it is. It's normal. The streets aren't flooded; everything's fine. You should probably expect some rain while you're here, but don't worry about monsoons or tsunamis or flooding. Plus, the recent tropical storm pretty much missed St. Pete. Have fun in Florida. |

Lol, no it's not a disaster area. We barely even got any rain from faye!! They were blowing it WAY out of proportion, especially on the news in other states (as they always do) and there is no flooding or damage. It was just a weak rainstorm. It's just hot and humid here of course, but it's Florida so that's to be expected. Also, the rain that we've been getting a lot of lasts for like 15-30 minutes. So don't worry about it. |

LOL! I have family that live in Central Fl. every thing is fine, Katrina didn't go through there it was a tropical storm, last week. Go ahead and go there, but protect your place there, before you go, because there's a hurricane heading for Texas. Good Luck, ;-) |
