Question: Rest stops or places to legally sleep in my car for free in the florida keys?

Id like to make a "loner " road trip to get away from the sity for the weekend. I live in St. Petersburg, FL and would like to leave at 5pm for the keys. I have 100 bucks for everything (food, gas, etc.). My car is a Honda Civic manual that gets 35 miles/ gallon. I basically wanted to know if anyone knows of rest stops along Dixie Highway or any between Miami and Key West at all? If not, are there designated places I can pull off and sleep in my car...legally? Any help would sincerely be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hello, I think it is okay to sleep in your car AT a Rest Stop, that is why they are there, well one of the reasons. It is better then driving when tired! We did it all the time, just lock your doors. I am sure you know that. Stay to your self, to be Safe! Good Luck!
